Brides Across America "Operation Wedding Gown" Event

MILITARY BRIDES SAY YES TO FREE DRESSES!  BRIDES ACROSS AMERICA’S “OPERATION WEDDING GOWN” ENLISTS BRIDAL SALON’S NATIONWIDE TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND CELEBRATE VETERANS DAY!

Nationwide, October 5, 2011—On November 9-12^th, as part of Brides Across America’s commitment to support our troops and Veterans, the non-profit organization announced its 5^th annual bridal gown giveaway.  From Los Angeles to New York, bridal salons nationwide will be joining forces and honoring Veterans’ Day by giving away more free designer wedding gowns to military brides.  Brides Across America has donated over 7000 wedding gowns to date.  Some of the designers donating gowns are from Jim Hjelm, Watters and Watters, Maggie Sottero, as well as other prominent designers.

Brides Across America’s founder, Heidi Janson, wants to continue making dreams come true to military couples that have not had the opportunity to plan their dream wedding due to deployment.  “Our continued efforts as an organization are to bring awareness to our communities.  My goal is to make sure we don’t forget all the servicemen and women overseas fighting for our freedom”.

The event will take place nationwide on November 9-12th.  Brides will be serviced on a first-come, first-serve basis. Brides are encouraged to come early and secure their place in line, as there is a limited supply. The gowns to be donated are valued between $500 and $4,000 and range in size.  Each store will have a select number of gowns, sizes and designers. 

In order to qualify, brides or their fiancé must be on active duty in the military, either currently deployed or deployed within the last five years to Iraq, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Libya or Japan.  Identification and deployment papers must be presented at the event to qualify.
