National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

Hi, my name is Tehlia and I am a wife to a Military Man and love him completely. My house exists as a world with two realities. One reality is The Army. Military gear everywhere, kevlar, camouflage uniforms, books about guns and of course Bacon cooking at least once a day. Then amongst all of that you will find the other world, a fridge and pantry full of Veggies, fruits, nuts and nothing processed. There is Yarn, a sewing machine, vegan and rawfood cookbooks, yoga mats and a buddha statue or two. Our Two worlds working together,  throw in love and there you have it... reality.

So, am I the only Vegetarian/Vegan married to a Meat eating Army Man? I like to think I am not alone and would really love if you stopped by to let me know. I have started a Blog that needs some Mil Spouse Support. It will cover topics of creating a healthy home, Fashion, jewelry and Art that are Earth Friendly and Made by people not machines.

I would Love to see more followers and if you are a Spouse that has an Etsy shop that falls into the category of Organic or Vegan design let me know. I would love to feature you on the Fantastic finds page.

Please Stop by The Blog

Thank you so much.

Hi Tehlia,

you're not the only one preferring veggies...:) OK, technically I am not vegetarian, but my native kitchen (Bulgarian) has a very strong vegetarian trend. I grew up in a household with meat once or twice per month and if it up to me, I won't touch meat at all. It's not the case that my parents are poor, they just love fresh veggies and my grandma had a huge vegetable garden.

I had a cultural shock when we first came to the States to meet my then-fiance's parents. I've never had that much meat in my life! I love my in-laws, but their eating habits are just awful....

I love to cook and the best recipes are actually vegetarian. However, my husband never got used to them (in the beginning he was asking 'Is that all we're going to have for dinner?' :))))). I brought in a meat-free day once per week or I just cook separated dishes for the both of us.

Now he's gone and the only good thing about it is that I can eat all I want.
