Wow I just found out that my husband will be deploying in a few months. I know I should be used to him deploying, but to tell you the truth I am a wreak. Is there an easy way of dealing with it?

keep yourself busy
Thanks for the tip. I know I will try too keep myself busy. The first time we was deployed I went back to school. This time I have a little one to take care of so I think I will be very busy for a while.

Anytime my husband deploys, (and he has been gone a lot) I do everything I can to keep myself busy. I stay 100% focused on everything else. I decided one day it was best to do that because as I watched my husband he did not once see, focused on leaving, nor was he focused on being gone while he was there. So I knew if I stayed busy he would be super proud of me and he would not worry about me at all. I figured he had enough to worry about. So in came the vegetable garden, a part time job working from home, crafting and house hold projects and so on. Every time he came home he would just laugh at me and all my silly projects (all of which he liked), and I was right he was less stressed and so was I.

I also forgot to mention we have 3 kids LOL. They also help keep me busy.
Kids will keep you busy. My husband and I have an 8 month old daughter. She is already a handful. I am lucky to have his family that I can count on. I do know that I will be busy.....hope to be busy long enough. I also have fun doing projects at home. I have this crazy idea of actually selling my bead jewelry. I will be stuck in bed for a few weeks......gotta keep busy right?

Plan an "event" or something fun to do with family/friends once a week ...something to look forward to and pass the time. Start a project or hobby that you can aim as being finished by the time he returns..that way as you are doing it it's a reminder that as the project is getting closer to being finished so is his return. My husband is being deployed in August for 10 1/2 months. I have two daughters and a step-s0n...it's hard but we can do it!
Thank you for the great idea. I am looking forward to trying new things with the family. I will be busy for most of the time. I just found out that I will be staying with the In Laws......which I really love. They are the best. I guess you can say I am very lucky. I am also recovering from major surgery and I know that I will always have help no matter what happens.
