National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

I am an Air Force newlywed, I recently moved to San Antonio, TX.  My husband is away at ATC school in Biloxi, MS.  I'm staying with my parents and will soon start commuting to Biloxi every other weekend to see my man. We are going to have to be apart for the next six months or so.  Because I am new to San Antonio and not living on a base, I am having a hard time connecting with other young spouses that I can relate to.  I would like to feel more connected, but I just don't know where or how to start.  I guess what I am looking for is advice on how to start a group or even meet people without having the community of living on base.  ANY ADVICE WILL HELP!

Welcome to the Air Force life. I am also newly married to a Ssgt. in the Air Force. We were stationed at Buckley then we got transferred to Gunter/Maxwell in Montgomery AL. Now I am packing up our stuff again so I can spend 6 months to a years with his family in Colorado while he is on deployment. It is very hard for me too. I know how you feel about connecting with other spouses. I don't know anyone here in Alabama. To tell you the truth hun you actually came to the right place. I wish you lots of luck and your husband and all the other men and women in the US Military are in my prayers too.
