Permalink Reply by Jackie Spears on September 7, 2010 at 8:17pm No, the trips never get easier! I did hear a good quote recently "We never get used to them, we just get through them." I thought it was perfect!! Since we have been married my husband has been deployed to Afghanistan 4 times...and each time sucks, ha. Very excited to have this site to find other women who understand and won't say something stupid!!
Hope your husband recovers quickly, enjoy your time. It's early, but it's time for sleep for me!!

Permalink Reply by Jackie Spears on September 8, 2010 at 7:57pm Hi!! I am a proud wife of an Army National Guardsman. He is currently deployed in Afghanistan. This is our 1st delpoyment and it has been hard. We have 2 boys ages 14 and 10 and they are handling great! I have my good days and my bad days!! His unit is suppose to return the end of October so we are getting close!! I was wondering what to expect when he returns. It seemed like we argued a lot when he was home for R & R and I do not want to go thru that again. Any advise!! I feel like at times that no one understands what I am going thru. Being a Guardsman wife some times seems hard because you do not have people around you that are going thru the same thing you are!!

Permalink Reply by Jackie Spears on September 8, 2010 at 8:00pm Hey Everyone! I'm a brand new Army National Guard wife. My husband is currently doing his AIT and is scheduled to come home in about two weeks. I am still learning about the military lifestyle and I am always looking for more information especially while my husband is away. I'm not going to lie, I am scared to death about deployments. I am looking for people to connect with who know what it's like. I don't really know anyone else personally who has a loved one in the military. I am very proud of my husband and all he has done so far for our young family.
