I guess my post title is misleading, lol. I am new to the site, not to the ANG, lol. So tired after school starting up again! :)
We are sooo happy to have him back!! He is adjusting well. He is still out on medical leave right now. He has been in the NG for 8 years, but the trips NEVER get any easier!! It was nice to meet you on here. I love that I can now share stories and get suggestions from other military wives.

No, the trips never get easier! I did hear a good quote recently "We never get used to them, we just get through them." I thought it was perfect!! Since we have been married my husband has been deployed to Afghanistan 4 times...and each time sucks, ha. Very excited to have this site to find other women who understand and won't say something stupid!!
Hope your husband recovers quickly, enjoy your time. It's early, but it's time for sleep for me!!
I LOVE that qoute!! It is sooo true! Hope you have a good night!

Hi!! I am a proud wife of an Army National Guardsman. He is currently deployed in Afghanistan. This is our 1st delpoyment and it has been hard. We have 2 boys ages 14 and 10 and they are handling great! I have my good days and my bad days!! His unit is suppose to return the end of October so we are getting close!! I was wondering what to expect when he returns. It seemed like we argued a lot when he was home for R & R and I do not want to go thru that again. Any advise!! I feel like at times that no one understands what I am going thru. Being a Guardsman wife some times seems hard because you do not have people around you that are going thru the same thing you are!!
Hey Everyone! I'm a brand new Army National Guard wife. My husband is currently doing his AIT and is scheduled to come home in about two weeks. I am still learning about the military lifestyle and I am always looking for more information especially while my husband is away. I'm not going to lie, I am scared to death about deployments. I am looking for people to connect with who know what it's like. I don't really know anyone else personally who has a loved one in the military. I am very proud of my husband and all he has done so far for our young family.
Hi!! I am a proud NG wife also. My husband is on his second deployment but first one together. He is suppose to get home the end of the year I can't wait!! My husbands been in the NG for 9 years.
Hi Mary! So glad your husband is coming back soon, that is awesome. My husband is always a crank when he gets back from a deployment...always. I just ride it out for a bit and let him get back to "normal." That's not to say you don't derserve you time or you have to let him do whatever he wants, lol. This is just what works in our house. The first deployment was rough, I didn't know what to do...live and learn I suppose. :)
Kudos to your boys, that is awesome. I am not looking forward to the next one (not that I ever do, lol) since our son will be about 20 months and will realize this time that Daddy is gone...

Welcome! The ANG is great, and they do offer support...it's just not as in your face as it would be for active duty AF...at least our base is great with it. I get a million and one business cards/flyers before each deployment. :) My best advice is to get to know a few other wives/GFs in your husband's unit. They will be your best support if/when he deploys. :)
