National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

Hello my name is Katie. My husband is in the Marines and we are at MCAS Cherry Point in NC. He is deployed overseas right now and I am at home with our daughter Elyse that just turned one. Just trying to make some friends that understand how hard it is sometimes to be a military wife.

Hi Katie! I'm Melanie and I'm new to this site too. My husband is also in the Marines. He is still training right now (currently at MCT) so we are not stationed anywhere yet.
Hi Katie!! I'm Mary and new to the site as well. My husband is in the Army Nat'l Guard and is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He is due to return home the end of October. I totally understand you wanting friends that are going thru the same as you. I have friends that like to compare their husband going out of town for work with my husband being deployed and sometimes I want to scream!!! I smile and try my best to get off the phone or walk away!!! We live in Alabama right now but when he returns he maybe out of a job. So, we may be moving who knows.
Hi Melanie, What is your husbands MOS? Do you know where he requested to go...not that it will work out that way but my husband requested stateside East coast and that is what he got. But it does not always work out that way.

Oh Yeah Mary I know what you are talking about. It makes me so mad when People write on facebook something like "I miss my man he has been gone for 2 days" And it is like HELLO my man has been gone for 6 months and is not due back for a long time..... I almost want to comment and say something like "Grow up and stop crying until you really have something to cry about." lol but that is only somedays I want to do that LOL

Katie, I haven't heard from him in awhile because of training, it is supposed to be an MOS in Communications, but he won't know the exact Communications MOS till the end of MCT. He is graduating from MCT on the 14th! I am so excited about that! He has requested stateside West Coast, so we will just see what happens!! What is your husbands MOS?
