National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

My husband and I are new to all of this.  Our older son is the first one in the immediate family to join the military. He is currently in the Army.  He joined while in High School (Early Enlistment).  He went to Ft. Leonardwood for Basic and AIP Training.  Then he was stationed over in Germany for 2 yrs.  He finished his tour over in Germany early December and came home for 30 days.  on 1/4 he reported to his next assignment at Ft.Bliss Tx.  He has only been there for less than a week and last night he was told he has to pack his things and report for deployment training.  He is being deployed in 55 days to Afghanistan.  I like all mothers I am sure did not want to hear that news.  My husband and I were hoping that he would not be deployed.  We understand he is in the Army and has a job to do and is sent where needed.  The mother in me wishes I can be there when he is deployed to say goodbye and see you soon but, unfortunately we are financially unable to get to TX from FL., and he will be alone.  Are there any support groups or any volunteers who are there for the ones who do not have family there to send them off?  Are there any support groups or people we can talk to, to help our family through this, as this is our first time.  Also, other people have been telling us that being that he just did 2 yrs in Germany he cannot be sent back over seas right away and that he has to wait 6 months. Does anyone know if this is correct information?
