Yet Another Newbie

Hello.
I saw you guys on NBC and was thrilled to hear about you.  Oct. 13 of this year will mark 20 years of being an army wife.  My wonderful dh is currently stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.  Our children and I have been living in his tiny hometown of Subiaco, AR for the past 3 years.  After leaving Ft. MacPherson, GA in July 2007, he took a 15 month unaccompanied tour to Korea. He was hoping to land an ROTC assignment here in AR as his last tour before retiring.  The dk's & I went ahead & moved to AR when he went to Korea, since we'd always planned to retire here.  As we all know often happens (lol), the army had other plans and sent him to KS after Korea.  Just when we thought this wonderful, crazy journey was at it's end and he started planning for retirement, dh was selected for promotion this summer.   Soooo our 3 children & I are going to sit tight here in AR until ds #1 graduates in May and then we're packing up & moving to KS, or wherever the army decides to send him.  4 years as a geo bachelor family will be plenty, lol.

We have 3 children.  As I said earlier, ds #1 is a senior.  We have 2 other children.  dd is 13 & in 8th grade and ds #2 is 11 & in 6th grade.  I'm a new SAHM.  I quit my job as a school-based speech-language pathologist 2 weeks ago to take a break from the 100 mi. round-trip commute and, more importantly, to spend more time with our children.  I'm still adjusting to being a SAHM for the first time in 10 years.  So far, so good!  :
