Hey DC Ladies! How are ya'll? I just wanted to share that this weekend there is another JBABACS event. I am a Key Spouse, along with Alicia Hinds Ward, and we both plan on being there. Here's the details:

 

The When- 4 February 2012; 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

The Where- Liberty Park Welcome Center, 2097 San Antonio Dr, Andrews AFB

 

"The events are free to everyone and are fantastic forums facilitating military affiliated business and community development. All branches, ranks, and military affiliations welcome from any of the surrounding bases and communities."

 

In layman's terms, if you own a home business or simply want to look at products like Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Willow House, Celadon Road, Norwex, etc without the hassle of hosting a party then this a the event for you! There will also be information booths set up and local business interested in providing you services.

Hi Ladies! New to the Group and New to NAMMAS! But loving it so far! :-) Sadly, we've been stationed in the DC area for over a year now and quite possibly are moving this coming Sept. So I'm scrambling to play catch up and see all the awesome there is here before we have to go. (Not my choice to leave, mind you) Does anyone have suggestions of great places to eat, museums to see, etc?

This is also an incredible way to meet professionals within the military community such as dentists, photographers, bakers, or even mechanics who would love to take your photograph, whip up their delicious confections, or help you fix that pesky leak on your car!  There will also be Military-affiliated non-profits and programs in attendance.  Come and learn about all the incredible talent and opportunities surrounding you in our military community, you simply can't afford to miss these JBA Business Support & Community Events.

Are you looking for a scenic park (like something alongside the Potomac), something with some history, or something where there is plenty of room to play? Also, are you looking for something close by? Many of the parks border or offer water based activities. Near Quantico you can go out on Lunga Park for the day. They have a variety of activities from kayaking to canoeing and paddle boats as well as a barbecue area and a playground.

No, I certainly hope we are not like the TV show. I appreciate having a place to connect with local spouses. What I have learned through the network I joined early this year has been invaluable. I takes a strong woman to be a military spouse and I enjoy hearing stories for more seasoned spouses.
