The Life of Stay-at-Home Mom

Sometimes it appears that the only moms that are heard are moms that work outside of the home. While their lives are considered exciting, stay at homes moms lives are sometimes perceived as "unimportant" when compared to the working woman or working mom.Well, I have chosen to be a stay at home mom, for me and my kids. But I do find myself shouting my thoughts out when mom issues arise, but no one is going to hear me…obviously. Please allow me to share my thoughts on being a stay at home mom with you!The definition of a stay at home mom in the dictionary is, "Stay-at-home moms, also known as housewives and homemakers, are women who choose to stay at home to raise their children rather than enter the workforce."This is a good start. But as most stay a home moms know, our job is ever changing, evolving. We are educators, mentors, doctors, and so much more. Choosing to be a mom who stays at home deserves respect and admiration, not pity. Being a stay at home mom is challenging at times, but can we so rewarding in all the right ways and we are not bored by being a mom. In fact any stay a home mom knows that boring is never in the equation. I also know many stay home moms who volunteer and work from home, just around their families schedule. All of the moms I know have dreams and aspirations; and each should be celebrated for her gifts and talents. I don't regret leaving my career and I also don't look down on any mom who chooses to, or must, work outside the home. For me and my family at this point in our lives, building a strong legacy for my children is more important to than building a strong career…my hubby and I have made certain life style choices that allow us to manage on one income – we are blessed. This is a personal choice, I know it is a hard one to make but once you do I hope it is one that you won't regret.

Thanks mom for the support. I always appreciate your advice and knowledge. Even now I consider my self a new mom by comparison. You have been there done that with Kyle and the girls, I know that no matter what situation I am going thru you can provide insight. So thank you for joining the group. I dont just want to have new moms, I want experienced moms who can provide advice as needed for others.

Hello sweetie, I am not a stay at home mom currently, but was one once, while doing day care in my home.  I am so proud of you for being such great wife and mommy!  Just wanted to let you know that....and maybe every now and then I can give a little advice!  Love to you and the boys too!!!
