Permalink Reply by Denise on April 13, 2011 at 5:53pm Julie is right week 7 is very stressful for them, but they can usually tell if they are staying on track now, especially physically. My son said after BEAST which is week 6, they had a good idea who was going to pass and who wasn't, all of his flight did well. But the real answer is not really known until they take all their tests PT and academic. I have heard that most trainees that get recycled are because of physical issues. I remeber being just where you are now and making all my arrangements and praying that he passed. You are the half way mark now it will fly.... I didn't beleive that when they told me that, lol but it's really true. I can't beleive it was three weeks ago already that I was at graduation. It is so amazing.
Are you any relation to Rick and Deb Wise from Pa.?

Permalink Reply by Denise on April 14, 2011 at 2:55pm Most hotels don't ask for deposits, I had reservations at 4 different places at one time for two different weeks just in case, so changing the reservation probably won't be a problem as long as they have availibility. The airlines if you are flying is the hardest part. Southwest didn't fly that route for me so I had to book on Continental but got a REALLY low fare so I lucked out.
Tell him to keep practicing and he will probably be OK.
Lisa, what the ladies said here is correct. They are not given "official" word of graduation status until the Friday before Graduation when their final testing is completed. Most hotels have a 24-48 hour cancellation policy, so just check on that when you make your reservation. Airlines will be more of a gamble, like Julie said if you go Southwest you will not have a change fee but others will charge one. Your Airman should be calling you the Friday or Saturday before graduation with official news of his status.
Hope this helps, good luck!
