My son leaves Monday for BMT
Hi everyone:) New (Nervous) Mom here! My son leaves Monday (his birthday) for Lackland AFB.
I am fighting back so many emotions. Patrick is ready to go and serve his Country. I am so happy that I found this community. I look forward to visiting with you all and maybe one day I can offer support and wisdom to a New Mom like Myself. Robin

Robin, I just returned from my daughter's graduation from USAF BMT. It was an amazing experience. While I was there, I looked at any trainee that was there and thought of their mom. I was that mom, not too long ago. And, I can tell you not to worry. He's fine! If I had known, I would not have worried, as much. They are well taken care of. They are going through a TOTAL transformation. You will be amazed!
If you're on facebook, visit the various family support pages such as USAF BMT where they post pictures of some of the trainees. Also, AF Wingmoms is fabulous for support and information to get you ready for that trip to San Antonio.
Your son gave himself and you the best birthday gift ever--the gift of "service before self." I learned that from my daughter.
Please contact me ANYTIME, if I can be of help. And remember, that after the 8.5 weeks, you and he will have increased contact via phone, texting, etc.
