Good morning Wingsisters! I am a happy mom this morning. Tyler found out last night he was selected to move on in his training pipeline. Nothing major happened, no awards or anything, just that he passed this phase and stays in the program. I have been a nervous emotional disaster waiting for the news. So he moved his stuff last night into his next training squadron. I still don't know what his next training school will be, I'll let you know when I find out. It's a little milestone, but it's a good one :-)

I'm so glad I am not the only cry baby LOL.
Hopefully any cuts they make will not affect our kids. Keep strong ladies!

Julie, When service members are RIF'ed they are honorably discharged but have up to two years to re-enlist in any branch of the service without loosing rank or pay. They also get their VA benefits, can collect unemployment and have health insurance for 6 months. VA benefits are prorated by time in service. Up to 24 months is 70%, I think that 24 to 48 is 80%, but I am not sure. As this time, I would not worry too much. This Airman was in construction. And, after talking with his mom, he had other problems stemming form the recent passing of his dad.

I hear ya Tiffany. Our Mother Son song from my Sond wedding cam on the radio this morning and I just started crying where I sat. It was pathetic. LOL Long story short, none of us are alone. :)

What happens when they get RIFed? Are they forced out? Do they give them any kind of compensation? My daughter is getting ready for her first deployment in a few months so I don't think that will happen to her but that lends itself to a whole other level of worry. Hang in there Moms!!!

My friend's son just got RIFed (reduction in force) He was stationed at Beal, AB in construction. I have not heard anything from my son about his position.

Tiffany, nice to know I am not alone :-) why wouldn't you feel that way you are the MAMA! nuf said!
Austin has hinted to the cuts a bit but not really I have been hearing it on the news. Just one more thing for us to think about late at night! Hang in there!!!!!
