Sue all those emotions are totally normal..just keep telling him how proud of him you are and that you love and support him!!!!! Start writing to him now!!!!! Hang in there !!!!!!

First of all I want to say how grateful I am for the opportunity to have access to all these wonderful stories. My son leaves on Monday for the overnight hotel stay in milwuakee. Then Tuesday for meps. Then it's off to lack land for boot camp . My emotions are in high drive I cry all the time . At work at the store at home which is fine but I have to use all my strength to keep from cryin in front of him . I can tell he is nervous and the fear of the unknown is beginning to show. For myself as well. I want to be strong for him but.... I feel like I'm never going to see him again. No more swooping in and saving the day etc! Is there a safe thought ? A safe word? To think or say to change my emotions for comfort? Did he make a mistake? Does he think he made a mistake in signing up? All these questions keep pounding my brain. How do I get through this? Ahhhhh! Lol

Hello, I am trying to get the hang of this website before my daughter goes to Texas so I will be use to it by then. Jamie leaves for Texas Feb 26th and we are so excited but scared at the same time.

HELLO PROUD AIRFORCE MOMS
I'm looking for someone from each state to write and/or draw on some denim squares that I will mail to you so I can put them in quilts to be sent to Bagram AFB to comfort and warm wounded veterans there. You can take them to your school, church, workplace, etc. to get them done. We want to have ALL 50 states represented in each quilt we make so I would be sending you 25 in total. Please let me know if you can do this asap. I need them back by Dec 31st. Also, please pass on to others you know across the country. email me with your address(sisterbart@gmail.com) and I'll have them shipped to you this week along with instructions. Hello all...my son leaves Oct 9. Gave him a going away party last saturday. I am so emotional lately. I know its normal, but i didn't realize it was going to be this hard. I know he is still home at this point..but the time is ticking down. He has wanted to be in the Air Force since he was 12. I am a strong single mom, but I have so much on my mind now. Unfortunately I'm not happy about the POTUS right now. I don't feel he is a leader. I worry and wonder why my son is going into under this admin and its lack of protection/concern of our military. Again so many things going through my thoughts...I'm glad I found this site and look forward to speaking with other indiviuals who have children in the military...thank you..
