A great big HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of my fellow Proud Air Force Moms and Wing Sisters!  WOW....293 members!  I had no idea that when I started this group back in 2009 when my son left for BMT that it would grow to such a large number.  Very happy to see you all here!!  Thank you for joining and I hope you have found some useful info and made some friends...I certainly have!

I have spent several Mother's Days without my Airman...even one in 2010 when he was in Iraq...but very happy to say that he is home for this one!  My daughter (his twin sister) graduated yesterday from Northern Illinois University and he arranged some leave time to be home to attend the ceremony! Ten glorious days!!!!  If you are fortunate enough to spend the holiday with your Airman, enjoy.  But if you are not, I know how that feels, too.  I am thankful for Skype and cell phones!  Just to hear their voice puts you in an awesome mood to face the day.

{{{{HUGS}}}} to all of you.  My best for a wonderful Mother's Day!!!  Love you all!!!  <3

I am a newbee to this site, looking for support. My 19 year old son leaves next week May 7 th for BMT in the air force, I am starting to freak out. I know nothing about how it works only small amount of info they gave us. I have so many different feelings going through my head all day and even during sleep in dreams, am I losing my mind or is this just normal when your child grows up and leaves? Any help I can recieve will be helpful I am trying to stay strong with him but inside I am falling apart.

AFWM is awesome and has been a wonderful support group that provided so much info and help during the last 8.5 weeks.  My son will be graduating BMT from Lackland on May 9th.  8 more days.  Go Mustangs 323TRS/FLT339 Anytime, anyplace Mustangs!!  Love you AB Holdren!

Hello Proud Air Force Moms, here is a site in Facebook called AF WingMoms request to be in the group and then look on the top right windows where it says TRS DG's for your Children's Flights and be in the group, you will be glad you did. Is a 24/7 support from all the parents involved in a particular Flight. I did and felt so happy to go day by day, hour by hour (if needed) and see what my daughter was going through, at the end all families from that particular Flight got to meet and we still continue to be in the Flight group and tell one another what our children are doing in Tech School.  https://www.facebook.com/AFWingMoms?fref=ts

Hi! My son flew out of New Orleans for BMT today, April 29, 2013, at Lackland. Any other moms out there with a child in this flight?

Thank you for creating this site, I can feel it is going to be very helpful. My daughter went to Basic Training on January 1st. she was very happy to have enlisted and I supported her on what she wanted to do. I miss her a lot but her letters and phone calls have helped me keep my heart strong.  I was reading on the link for Moms in Basic Training that when we go to the Graduation of our Airman, we should wear a Purple Hat so we can recognize one another,  where do we find that?  Thank you again.
