Permalink Reply by Donielle Nyberg on September 23, 2010 at 12:49pm Dancing sounds like fun, I like the idea Tara for dinner drinks then dancing that way everyone can take part in either all or the part they want :) After 8 is good for me too as long as its a friday or saturday night. I have to get up early during the week...
Are there any other ideas out there? We can always plan a girls night in. I have heard lots of ladies have had a blast getting together and scrapebooking. I have never gotten into it but would love to. So if anyone has an idea or a hobby they would like to share when can alway do someting like that too... Just brainstorming LOL

Permalink Reply by Donielle Nyberg on September 24, 2010 at 9:53am Yeah- about the hobby thing...I have hobbies- but they aren't really group hobbies, so to speak. Let's see: I know how to crochet (OMG don't even comment on that- lol. I went to an all girls academy my senior year, ok!). I paint--OOOOOOOoooo, I can teach everyone how to paint wooden plaques/toy boxes, etc! Nel- you know like the ones that I've done for Punk & here at home...like that! It's a fairly cheap hobby. What else...I wouldn't mind scrapbooking if everyone wanted to do that. I know how to paint vases/candle holders as well, as long as they're clear glass. Anyone else have closet hobbies?
Permalink Reply by Tara Jean Miller on September 24, 2010 at 11:49am hahahaaaa Tara... Cayden needs a new hat... you up for it? You could use your crochet skills ;) LOL, really though, kudos to you... I tried to learn that when I was little, and I couldn't get the hang of it. I used to get really, really frustrated and give up... Which is also why my dad stopped teaching me to play guitar :S
I'm willing to learn pretty much anything (I don't get so frustrated anymore)... If people want to scrapbook, well my mother in law and aunt got me a bunch of stuff to make one for our wedding, and it's STILL sitting in my closet. I could work on that. I've been thinking about making one for the kids, too. I'm not making any guarantees on my painting skills... especially when it comes to small areas... Sometimes my hands shake pretty bad, and I can't do the fine motor stuff. I'll try it though :)

Permalink Reply by Sabrina Kennemore on September 24, 2010 at 1:41pm I don't think fine-motor skills always have to be a birth-given talent...it can be acquired :) And I hate to rain on the hat parade...but I can't do that- lol. I can do blankets & scarves. The talent stops there. I know I could figure out a hat, but I refuse to- lol. I also have a scrapbook that John bought me for Stitch, and need to do one for both the girls. I had planed on getting wooden boxes built for both girls- then painting characters that I've used for their room, etc. over the years all over it (adding more as they get older). Then when they are grown & moving out- I can send their keepsake boxes full of all the things I've saved for them over the years in their little boxes I made for them :)
