NAS Oceana Air Show
Saturday, September 18th
Admission and parking are free at the NAS Oceana Air Show. Gates open
to the public at 8:00 am and the flying starts at 10:00 am. The Blue
Angels will start flying at 3:00 pm and finish at 4:00 pm. We would
like to remind guests that you can expect heavy traffic in the early
afternoon so please arrive early. There is plenty of fun and
entertainment for the whole family throughout the day!
Meet there at 11am, plan to have lunch there. Maybe either buy lunch there, I'm sure they'll have booths...OR- plan a picnic?? We wouldn't want to go much later than that, because of how heavy the traffic would be.
Would anyone be interested in meeting up for this??
(there was another one going on Sunday...would that work better for anyone?)

There's a free concert that night, and the events last until 10pm- which isn't too bad for the kids I don't think. There's also a kidfest...look it up! -

There is one on Sunday as well...maybe everyone would prefer to do that day instead? Doesn't really matter either way to me- I'm free both days.

Sounds like a great plan. Right now we dont have anything planned for either day other than wanting to go to the air show. So either day is good for us.

Cait and I were talking-- she said she took her kids last year, and they had to turn around and go home. The noise was AWFUL for the kids :( SO- now I'm worried about that. Would anyone be up for a parents night Saturday night, and doing the kids on Sunday? I wasn't sure if anyone would want to go twice...but I really think my girls would love the planes. I'd hate to not at least give taking them a try...but I'd also like to be able to stay for the concert on Saturday night.

Alright- so...update on my end. I won't be going to the Air Show Saturday night for sure. I got a call yesterday informing that my hubby is getting home on Saturday now :) SO- we have a date night planned for Saturday night. However- I'm sure he'd be interested in going on Sunday...and since I have him to tag-team with, we'll be bringing the girls. Does everyone want to go Sunday as families??
