Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. My son is in Fort Benning BT, he has been there since Oct. 22,2013. He has not received a single letter I have sent, is it normal for the command to hold back letters?

Thank you Tricia,

Yes, my son is at Fort Benning Georgia. I am so glad to hear that they have a FaceBook page. I am very happy that you got to see a picture of your son, it gives me hope.  Yesterday was tough, though I did have many family visitors to keep me occupied. I am very thankful that I do have a supportive family. I did find myself talking to Our Lord a lot more yesterday, and I know that God will see me through this. It is also good that my 10yr old twins are keeping me busy with school and the church Christmas play that they are both in again. Between bake sales for church and school fund raisers and the Fishes and Loaves ministry I am very busy. Late evenings are rough, I have been a single mom for ten years, Patrick and I bonded when the younger kids were in bed. Me and him use to watch scary movies and talk about everything. I miss those talks already.

Hi Phyllis Chase,
I know the feeling of being an emotional wreck. My one and only son left for Georgia on September 16. Letting go and still being supportive for his decision to join is, by far the hardest thing, I did as a mother besides giving birth...lol! But it is my faith in The Lord and His Word that sews my heart together each morning, as difficult as it may seem, that gets me out of bed and forges me forward to carry on.
Is you son going to Ft Benning? My son is at Ft Benning and they have a Facebook page that you can like and become a friend. Once they are assigned to a company, they post pictures on fb of their training activities and give weekly updates on what our soldiers have learned. Last week I actually found a action picture of my son on the obstacle course. I was soooo happy as that was the 1st time I got to see him in over a month.

Sorry didn't mean to write a lengthy post comment.

I am still a newbie army mom but my advice is to lean on God for strength

Hi everyone, my name is Phyllis. My 19yr old son is leaving Oct 22, 2013 for basic training in Georgia. I was so excited and happy for my son when he first told me that he was going. As the date gets closer I find that I am an emotional wreck. Patrick is my oldest and I have 3 more after him, but he is my first. I find that I am crying over stupid stuff and not dealing with his leaving for the Army.  This is the first time I am even talking about it. This is tougher than I thought, I just pray that he calls me when he is down there.

Tricia, thanks so much for commenting on my post. I am new to be so direct effected by the military. My husband used to be in the military, but already had passed all the stages my son has to go through now. Today I have an extreme bad day. I tried to get rid of this clump in my stomach which blocks me from enjoying my day. I am just so down. I cant talk to my husband. He doesn't understand me, and says things I cant adapt to at this time. I pray for your son a and that he will be ok and that the time until graduation will go well. I live in Ohio, but I am originally from Germany and moved to the states in 2006. Hugs
