Nice to meet you. YOu have a lovely family. How old is your son? I read that your husband left in November. Have things gotten better? How were the holidays?
We are doing pretty good so far. It's only been a couple of weeks. I am sure it won't always be easy but it will be doable. I am looking forward to reaching out to you and other wives/mothers on the site.

Going it alone during the holidays does sound hard. Even though you might have had other family around, it's not the same without your hubby (in your case) and Daddy (for your son). I know it must have broke your heart to watch your little one looking for Daddy and daddy never coming :-(. Did you all manage to have a pretty good Christmas/holiday despite it all?
So far, Daniel (my little one) is taking it okay. He is used to Daddy being gone for long stretches of time. I wonder how he will do once he realizes Dad is gone for a really long time. Everyone tells me how lucky I am that the deployment is happening when Daniel is a baby because he won't remember it. I don't feel so lucky. Babies/toddlers are a lot of work :-).That being said, I get that its less separation anxiety for him than if he was older.
We are still digging out from the snow here. How's the weather where you are?
