National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

Hi ladies of VA!  Anyone live in Fredericksburg or somewhere close to F'burg?  We are loving VA after being on the WC for years and years!  I'm also homeschooling this year and would like to connect with other homeschoolers!

Hi Tina:
Yes!! I'm in Fredericksburg! I also know a great member of our group who has a ton of experience with home schooling! Janet has homeschooled her kids for years and has a wealth of information. She's generous and I'm sure she'll offer info or answer any questions that she can for you.
We lived on the West Coast during our military adventures too and yes, I love VA! The seasons are so beautiful here, the history is so amazing, the opportunity to see and do so much is fantastic. I love it! However, I LOVE CA and the West too. On a recent visit there, I determined I could be happy there again too. What a country!
Hi Tina, Welcome to F'burg. We've lived here for over 25 years and have been homeschooling for 21 years. Down to the last one. There are some wonderful hs'ing groups in the area to connect with for activties, co-ops, academics etc. There are quite a few Military wives who are homeshooling. SRCH is a wonderful group that has a Teen Volleyball and Park Day for younger children on Fridays througth the fall. A great way to meet folks. SRCH covers Spotys - Stafford and beyond. TOOL is agreat group for younger children -- lots of field trips and helps -- guest speakers at their monthly meets. Just let me know how I can help you.

My military connection is my son, who is a Marine.

Born and mostly raised in New Jersey, Virginia became our home and I/we just LOVE IT. F''burg is a short drive to DC, Richmond, the mountains, and bit longer to the beach -- its all here.

Again, welcome to VA and to the F'burg area -- so much to explore
Thanks Janet and Karen. We love it here as well. My husband will finish his career here so more than likely we'll stay until all kids have finished high school! I'm sure I will be contacting each of you for your ideas and advice! Thanks so much!!

Hi Tina! I love the area too. My husband and I have been exploring all that the area has to offer for the past few years. It's a great place for history and outdoor activities. I am not a homeschooler, but I am a teacher:)
Hi Tina,

Did you find connection in the homeschool community yet?

Janet
