Beth, Keep busy. I am active with my chpater of Blue Star Mothers of Ameria..great support group! Send your son lots of phone cards,
so he can always call you. Lots of my friends are hooked up with Skype. Great if you can coordinate the timing. My son won't use this..long story. Lastly, get your son to sign a durable power of attorney naming you as the one who can take care of his business. They may do this during basic now, but did not 8 years ago. This has been helpful since Matt has been out of the country for 2 1/2 years. Most importantly, stay connected with other AF moms. We have all gone through what you are going through now.
