About Me

I'm a freelance writer, amateur photographer, and creative dabbler. Along with a regular yoga practice & running regimen, you’ll find me reading, cooking, baking, bicycling, contemplating new tattoos, learning how to be a military wife (Marine Corps, Ooh-Rah!), and looking for more ways to live sustainably (& with less stuff).

I recently released my first 2 books: 27 Things to Know About Yoga & 48 Things to Know About Sustainable Living - I hope you'll buy one of each. (*wink*)

Up next? Yoga teacher training in order to teach active duty military, veterans, & their families.

awww i know it's hard sometimes. but you can do it! don't focus on him being gone so much....focus on what you can do while he's gone.  once you get some goals in place, you'll realize how short the time really is.  trust me, i know!!

thanks for being a member of NAMMAS!

My husband is in Comm too! His MOS in 29 took 3 months. Well, 5 because his class didnt pick up right away, but the class itself is only 14 weeks long =) Where would you like to be stationed? Im really excited for the 2 of you! <3

I know how tough it will be but it is something you can do! What is his MOS? I know that most schools only have them in for 3 months. My husband went to 2 schools and was gone for a period of 3 months at a time, sometimes longer because his class didnt pick up right away. It really just depends on the MOS. School should make everything lots easier! Im thinkin about going and getting a degree soon but really want to wait until hubby deploys first. I want to spend as much time as possible with him! <3

Im glad to hear that you stay so busy and focused! Im going to try and do something to keep myself from going crazy while my husband is training. So far, we have only seen eachother for about 5 months in the last 2 years =( With all of the training he does, I could probably add up the days we have spent together in less time than I can count days we have been apart =( Probably not the best day to be discussing it....Ive been really missing him lately! It does get easier, so Ive heard but its always scary none the less. Hope I didnt make you feel uncomfortable LoL Sometimes I end up venting at the wrong times =)

LoL - well Im glad that he can be your SuperMan! I know that my husband is mine =) So how are you holding up? Have you stayed busy so you dont think about the days? I was pregnant and went to stay with my mom while he was in Bootcamp...but the days went by sooo slow! I tried to stay busy by reading, cooking, sight seeing. But it just wasnt enough LoL Then when my letters came, it made me feel so much better! <3
