I am new Air Force mom and am so proud but terrified at the same time! My son has qualified to be a special forces pararescue trainee and reports to MEPS on New Years day. Here is my first dumb question, is it appropriate to have a going away type party for him before he reports or is this to be a serious occasion? Thanks, Bobbie
It's Anne Pierce, new AF mom! Thanks for friending me. It will be nice to talk with someone. My e-mail is at work and I really should switch it to home, but I haven't had a chance. My son is now in his 3rd week of BMT and I can only hope he's doing ok. I did receive my graduation information, so it's exciting to be planning to see him again. I wasn't very sure how I felt about his choice to go this path, but I am very supportive now and just want him to be happy with his decision. After much thought, I really believe this will be an amazing experience for him. I hope all is well with your son/daughter (?) and look forward to hearing from you and making new friends.
Anne
