Where did summer go??

Every year it seems summer gets shorter and shorter! It's been a world-wind for my family and me...we just completed a second move in a year. It was a local move, but still involved the packers, boxes, the logistics, the letting go, the keeping close, the....EVERYTHING! There's still something refreshing though about starting over. It's a clean start. Another opportunity to finally get as organized as I've always wanted to be.

Also, thank you for starting this website, I cannot tell you how liberating it is for me. When my son went through boot camp, there was nothing, no support groups, no websites to view him or the goings on...we were totally blind, and knew nothing about what was going on with him so very far from home. My son has been in 6 years now, and has accepted orders to take him to England for 4 years. None of my friends at home understand the hurt, frustration and helplessness you feel about not seeing your child for years...or deployments, or anything military. This group understands everything I feel!!! Now I have met truly some of the most wonderful women in my life, and I am planning on getting together with one of them this weekend from my home state of Michigan! She has also directed me to some support groups in our state and in my area, and I feel like I am not so alone anymore! I have also talked to another mom from a neighboring state about getting together this summer. I find can share all of my experiences with other Military Mommies which has been awesome! I'm doing lots of research, but I'm also a freelance writer & author, so keeping myself busy is a good thing for my mind & my career! :) January is a bit of a lull month, as folks gear up for the start of the new year & really get moving again. Getting through 3 months of boot camp wasn't nearly as tough as I thought it would be, so 1 month of training shouldn't be so hard.
