I just got off of a conference call with a group of other people who vowed to "end the trend of obesity." Huge task, but, I'm up to the challenge to do my part. I've DECIDED, COMMITTED and I will SUCCEED in helping to get this done!

I've been cruising this site all day (in between work) and absolutely love it. It's chuck full of information for military spouses and, from what I can tell, a shoulder when needed!
As my title says, for me, SWEATIN' HELPS! Meaning, EXERCISE has really gotten me through some tough times as I've been married to a military man for 23 years. We have two grown sons now, but, there were times when I had to do the single-parenting thing, which was doable, but NOT easy. During the… Continue

I grew up with 2 sisters, one of which is my identical twin. We occasionally had boys around, when our step brothers joined our crew, and later on with our half brother who is much younger than me, was born.
Our house was Girl-land...jewelry, dolls, nail polish, bows, and as time marched on...makeup! I grew up around all those girlhood things, but as we often find, God has an astounding sense of humor and has chosen to bless me with BOYS! My husband, our 1 year old son.....not too long ago… Continue

Today my hubby had to go get a POA for me...(power of attorney). This has, unfortunately, been promted by a string of ridiculous events.
It started with the bank screwing up and not putting my name on things, so I had to get my husband to call them so they knew it was ok for me to PUT MONEY INTO our account, and it ended last week with me being unable to get my husband's LES unless he was physically in the office because a phone conversation just doesn't cut it.
We never thought it… Continue

When I saw your organization on NBC News, I knew I had to join. I am a retired Navy wife with a son who is active duty Marine Corps. During the "olden days" email, personal computers, skype, and cell phones did not exist. In those days, when the ship left the port for a 6-month cruise you were truly alone. Somehow, we made it and so will you. Many of you may have already discovered that your military experiences basically separate you from your civilian… Continue

Hi ladies! I'm new. My name's Rebecca and my husband is Andrew. He's a Marine and has been in the Corps for 10 years now. We've been together for 2 1/2 years and just celebrated our first wedding anniversary on July 11th.
We're kind of in a unique situation right now. Andrew has been reserves for a number of years and had a regular civilain job. A couple months into our marriage, he started getting really restless and dropping hints he wanted to go back to active duty. After a… Continue

Stopped drains, except for the kitchen sink which has food clogs, are clogged because hair, whiskers, etc that are caught in grease or simply a large buildup of grease in the pipe(s). That grease comes from soap scum, shampoo scum, shaving cream scum, facial oils, makeup etc. This is nothing but plain ol' grease. Dish liquid Dawn disolves grease. 1. fill the sink (1 gal. in tub) with HOT water. 2. add 1 measured cup of Dawn. 3. Mix thoroughly without making suds. 4. Open drain and let it set in… Continue
