Finally heard from my son. What a relief to hear his voice... sniff,sniff...I saved his first call voicemail (was so sad i missed it)...and listened to it whenever i needed to hear his voice.

I am from California and my daughter will be graduating in March 2012 at Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a hotel close by that I can stay in?

I am tired of my husband always being taken away from me. There is no telling when he is going to be home from work and he is gone every morning by 5:30... I love the fact that my husband is so into to something, but I would love for him to have time for me too. My husband is airborne so he is jumping once a month that causes him to be home off and on for a week, him being a Sargent.

I am new to being a military mom, as well.  My son left today for MEPS and will be sworn in, in a couple of days, which we will be at.  I broke into tears last night when he hugged me goodnight.  Went to bed crying and got dressed this morning to take him and broke down again as he was about to board the shuttle van.  I will see him Tuesday, then not again for 8 1/2 weeks.  I hate it so bad that he is not here for Christmas, but on the same hand, I am so very proud of him.  He is…

My beautiful fiance left today out of north island and will be gone for about 5 months and will pull in to Norfolk, Va.  Man this is my first deployment and its hard ! Both of my parents were military and I get stronger every time, seeing them come and go.  I'll be okay, im a big girl ! It sure would be nice to find girlfreind though that are in my area sine i dont know anyone here ! 

I have been keeping myself very busy while my husband of six months is away training for Afghanistan. This deployment really hasn't been the issue for me, but the thought of the first real deployment for six months or more is scaring me senseless. I feel that I have been more stressed out about Afghanistan than the fact that I know nobody out here in Jacksonville. I fell in love with my husband within a week and knew that i wanted to spend the rest of my life with him at that moment.. this afternoon, my 3 yr granddaughter and i  2 dozen perpermint chip cookies and 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies and remembering how much Roddy Loves them expecially at christmas, it was a bittersweet feeling that came over me, but it wa still a fun afternoon, I will have to freeze some so i can bring them when we see him for graduation, I miss him :(

finally heard from my son!! 3 weeks now in BMT , he just sent a beautiful christmas card and some Air Force wing earings!!! I was so excited , he even said , I miss you guys a ton and Please tell me you will be out for graduation!

I'm and Air Force Key Spouse and I often hear "What's that?" Or "Do I have a Key Spouse?" Or even "What do you all do?"  That troubles me for many reasons.  It does because that tells me that not too many people know about us and therefore can't access our knowledge about military benefits, or even avail themselves of the services we offer.

My husband and I have had a whirlwind of a romance. We met January 2011, when I moved in with him, we were engaged by March, married in April, and we love eachother more than I ever thought possible. God made him especially for me. I realized, however, his career in the Navy hinders us from seeing eachother as much as I'd like. I received a Christmas box of presents for the family yesterday from my daughter who left for BMT on 11/15. I was so excited because she had a handwritten note inside and I could tell that she misses us as much as we here at home are missing her. I can't wait til her graduation comes in early Jan 12. I just want to hug her so tight!!!
