Before I get into everything that's happened in my life, I want to thank those that shared their experiences, words of encouragement, and introduced me to a slice of their lives. It was uplifting to see that there are other strong women out there that care enough to share with me how to push through the hard times, and that there is an end to the hardships of our husbands being deployed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Things have been slow around the home front here.…

I had a hard time trying to get back into shape after I gave birth. I tried all kinds of diets, yet nothing work. I had lose over 30 pounds in order to fit into my uniform again, so I decided to try the Body By Vi 90 Day Challenge and thus far, I have lost over 20 pounds. Yes, 20! Some of my coworkers were so impressed that they have started their own personal challenge.
If you are tired of those expensive diets that don't work and then you are out your money, check this…

I'm not much of a blogger, I typically like to sit down and write my thoughts out. Seems to get me to think a little bit more about how I'm feelng, but typing IS a lot faster :)
I'm 22 years old, newly married - just over 2 weeks - and my husbands been deployed for all but the first week we were married. We knew each other for about 3 weeks before we tied the knot, and I know what you're thinking. You probably think it was a little quick for us to get married, but the truth of…

I am a 23 year old Mother, Wife,Military spouse. My husband joined the Air Force in mid 2008 and We are currently at our very first Station here at Offutt AFB, in Nebraska.
Now being Born and Raised (Husband and myself) in Central Texas, this move was a major culture shock for us both. Not only the weather, but the people and the Military itself.…

I am involved with Operation Hooah - a great organisation that sends packages to the outposts in Afghanistan. For a long time I have pondered what to pack into my packages, I wanted it to be really what the soldiers want and need. I read, I questioned and
finally got the idea to self address envelopes and added cards saying:
"Please tell me what you want or need". One of the pilots delivered my 10
note cards and today I received the FIRST 3.Some of…

It's been almost 4 weeks since my website is up:
www.militarydutystations, my husband returned from deployment, we got PCS orders.
What have I learned?
First of all I found it absolutely astonishing that ALL came at once. It is truly strange.
The website:
I found that after 15 years of being out of the 'business world' I am much more naive than I was when I was still working. I attribute this to the fact that back then I…

NAMMAS Family, one of our members, Renee Saunders sent me this link to a great opportunity to send a FREE photo book to your deployed or away member! I did one of these books for my husband when he was deployed to Afghanistan. He LOVED it, and trust it sure wasn't free!
Use a coupon code supplied on the site for one free 20 page soft cover book. Definitely worth a look, and even if you don't have anyone deployed you can still get one done. What a great gift for Mother's Day,…

First of all, I am completely thrilled to be featured on NAMMAS! Quite an honor - Lori is putting a lot of work into this and I am glad I am a part of it.
In regards to the headline...I asked my 15 year old son to comment on the statement “You know you are a military family when” – but he wanted to use the expression “military…

I was speaking to an acquaintance on the phone one day when she heard
her garage door open. "Oops, gotta go Lori!", she exclaimed. "Why, are
we talking too long?", I asked. "Nope. My husband's home and it's time
for lunch 'n' love."
As I hi-fived her over the phone lines I was happy for her. That's the
way to take care of your man, I thought. And ultimately she is taken
care of. It's no wonder when I see them they're always touching each
other and look…

Yes it's true. Sometimes, every so often, as you move around the military or associate with people in the military, you will meet her. She's the one who is stirring up trouble in your neighborhood. She wears her husband's rank. Her kids are more well-behaved than yours. Home-schooling makes them smarter. And when you meet her, you will know. She's the one I'm warning you about.
It is unfortunate in our wide and wonderful military, there are some spouses who don't realize they did…

I was inspired by Lori's account of celebrating her husband's return from deployment. I went back in my personal blog to March of 2007 and read what I wrote about my husband's return from Iraq. Here it is:
I think we would both really like to be romantic, but somehow we're just not. We try so hard. My husband spent the week planning this big, secret date for last night. I was so impressed, even took a day away from email so as not to ruin his plans.
Unfortunately, it all…
