I recieved this email recently from a Navy mom. Her daughter was deployed to Afghanistan and she found an awesome way to send Christmas to war! Try this the next time you fill your holiday care package:
"Lori, this is the first time I've used this email addy in a long time, and so happy to be able to post one more time. You have the greatest number of members to whom I hope this will prove useful.
I wrote about it when my daughter was in Afghanistan, and…

It was a breathtaking scene. Thirty military spouses, laughing, crying, and hugging in a foggy haze of the holiday scene going on around us. It was October just outside the doors of this room, located just a few miles from my own house.…

Have you ever had a bad computer day? The email doesn't work right, you can't access the files you need, or you simply can't get connected. My day is like that today, with all of the above going on. It sounds like a small thing but when you can't get what you need when you need it, it can be like the world is on fire! But I was looking in my journal and found this message from January 26:
"Today I want you to picture Me cradling you. Whenever you feel the stressors of the…
So often we question and wonder...does He see me? Does He know me? Does He love me? I was wondering the same thing one day. Here is God's message to both of us:
Why do you love me? Don't you see me? What is it about me that thrills you?
"You are like me. You are part of me. You are mine. I created you to love. Everything about you is fantastic. Sure there are things we're going to work on, but you, the eternal you, you are divine and simply beautiful. I want…

Here is what God has in mind concerning you today:
"I love you and I really do want what's best for you. I'm excited about you! Just walk with me. Talk with me. Give me everything you are so I can give you everything I am. I want to make myself known to you, as the Father makes himself known to me. I'm not holding anything from you. I want to give you everything. Abide in me and let my words abide in you."
With love and blessing
Lori

We're celebrating independence day this week and it got me thinking about freedom. How many of us truly live like we're free? I've heard the "glass ceiling" and the "fixed income" and all sorts of things we tell ourselves to explain why we haven't excelled past where we are. So what's holding you back?
What hinders you from feeling and being free? What one thing can you do this week to free yourself from judgement, schedule, conflict, worry, etc?
Start the conversation and…

Since creating NAMMAS two years ago, I have learned that a person's social and professional net worth is directly proportional to their network. This basically means you can be of little value to those around you unless your network extends beyond your small circle of friends.
Here's what I mean:
This week has been one of my most fun ever! There were back-to-back events that I was invited to attend and since I love to be where moms of service members and…

Every year it seems summer gets shorter and shorter! It's been a world-wind for my family and me...we just completed a second move in a year. It was a local move, but still involved the packers, boxes, the logistics, the letting go, the keeping close, the....EVERYTHING! There's still something refreshing though about starting over. It's a clean start. Another opportunity to finally get as organized as I've always wanted to be.
On top of all that, two of my kids started…

NAMMAS has seen some amazing growth during our first year on the WWW. We are delighted that so many of our members pass the word on to friends, relatives, other spouses and moms and people who love supporting the military. Unfortunately, many times when groups of like minds congregate together, that also attracts others with unscrupulous intentions ready to take advantage of a wonderful community. I wanted to write a special post on OPSEC, Operational Security, to remind you that even in…

Did you know that in a study done by AOL in February of 2008, they discovered potty training is the MOST searched parenting topic on the internet? I didn’t know this (well, not until I read about it), but I’m not surprised. Chances are, I was one of those parents! And from the response on our NAMMAS Military Stay-at-Home Moms Facebook Fan Page,
I’m not alone! When asked “What are your best potty…
