National Association of Military Moms and Spouses

“I’m glad to see a website for moms...”

It's a comment I hear all the time when I go to military family events or even speak at military spouse conferences.  And it's all over our site.  Moms are happy to be connected to a group of people who are just waiting to talk, help and swap stories! Like this one from  Lisa Kenney, creator of our Proud Army Moms Group:

"I heard of Nammas and just joined yesterday. That is when I also started this group. I don't think there is ever enough support for us moms. My son and daughter in law are both soldiers stationed at Fort Carson, Co but moving very soon. My son did his second deployment to Iraq returning last summer. It is a very difficult thing,,, deployment..for us all."

This is a common theme that runs through NAMMAS...
-- A spouse just joined looking for help
-- A mom just let go of a son or daughter and doesn't know what to do next
-- A Guard spouse doesn't know anyone in her town that can identify with this lifestyle...help!

And that's why we're here.  Like military life CPR, here to restore some life back into...life.  All through the power of communicating with people who actually "get you."

That's why I LOVE the uniqueness of this community! It's more than a website, and more than a fun place to hang out online.  There are people here with real stories, real challenges and they come to get real answers.

If you haven't spent some time here in a while, take a look and see how we've grown! And also how you can contribute to the story and the family of NAMMAS that keeps you connected.

Hey Marlene, don't give up! You're in the right place.  Many of the moms here started like you, not knowing anything.  That's why you've got to get connected...get "plugged in" to the groups formed here so you'll know who you talk to, what to ask, and what to expect.  You're doing a great job as a supportive mom.  Keep pressing and this Air Force experience will be a good one for you too.

I was so happy to find NAMMAS... my son joined the Air Force 1 year ago.   He finally arrived at his duty post in Ft Knox Ky.   He is Air Force but stationed at a Army post.   There so many questions I have and he doesn't have alot of the answers.  He will be deploying in the a few months, I feel so lost with very little information.
