Proud lonely mom. Son Left for Lackland Air Force Base Oct 8 2012 From Calif
Our son got to take his cell phone and called us 5:30pm Calif time. We put the phone on speaker and when he heard my voice he started to cry and said, "I want to come home." IT BROKE MY HEART. I am a stay at home mom and I have always been used to fixing everything. Can't fix this. I told him no you are doing great. He passed his physical test. He said he hadn't eating in 3 days. OUTCH! A mother doesn't want to hear that. Then he said he is only getting 3 hours sleep a night. Now this is the first week. They say it gets better after the 2nd week. I have writing many letters and I have printed all his support off of face book and mailed that. I think the more support and positive the better. I told him to get to know his heavenly father because that is all he has to get him through. God be with all of us mothers. The fathers don't understand,

We had his Air Force Party and all family and friends were there!!!!! MY SON WAS SO CUTE....he will be a great AIRMAN...i am so..so proud, HANG IN THERE MOMS WE WILL MAKE IT.....I AM GREATFUL FOR THIS SITE LETS STICK TOGETHER AND I KNOW ALL WILL BE WELL!!!!thanks moms

Thanks Moms' Just heard for our son on his second week. He had a smile in his voice. Was really positive and got our letters of support. Said he has to pay for the food, hair cut, boots and other things. Kinda hit me wrong that they are taking that outa his pay. We are sending billions to rebuild other countries and our boys have to pay for a hair cut. Am I confused? Well so I have been reading your stories and very proud of you moms and your son's and daughter's. Great they will be home for Christmas. We have to make it a grand one.

My son called yesterday(only has 15 min to talk),stated that he had made it thru beast week and looking forward to us coming to visit on his Grad day of nov 1st, since im not familar with the area i went on google earth and typed in directions fr san antonio airport to lackland af base and its pretty cool it feels like your driving right there gives me a lil better indication of what ill be heading into after i rent the car , will have help of my sons girlfriend whos very high tech if i get lost,,Good wishes & best of luck to all Airforce Moms!!//More later

My son did the same thing ,after 22 yrs of living a typical family life, its a lil shocking to say the least for these kids,,But hes is Graduating soon at end of month and we will get to spend 4 days with him..I also got Greatest News by his last phonecall saying they get 2 weeks off for Christmas Holidays,so looking forward to that Have to celebrate with 2 Trees and more decorations than usual!,More To Come...
