It's been almost 4 weeks since my website is up:
www.militarydutystations, my husband returned from deployment, we got PCS orders.
What have I learned?
First of all I found it absolutely astonishing that ALL came at once. It is truly strange.
The website:
I found that after 15 years of being out of the 'business world' I am much more naive than I was when I was still working. I attribute this to the fact that back then I knew what I was doing and snowing me wasn't as easy as it is now. Plus I have this strange notion that when you commit to something you finish it or you are upfront in your communication. HAHA.
In the meantime my web developer has dumped me for a bigger and better project, which by now is fine with me. It was almost a relief when we both expressively agreed on what needed to be done and it wasn't done by the deadline. I didn't have to second guess anymore - and I moved on to finding someone else.
I have also been given strength by the community that I have found among fellow military spouses and their support. It's been amazing and I have been encouraged NOT to give up. Therefore, I won't. Thank you Ladies!
Family:
The deployment has brought a new appreciation to all of our lives. I guess if I had to see a silverlining in my husbands' absence this would be it. We have been working hard on rediscovering each other and it is almost painful to let ourselves realize just how much we missed the other person.
PCSing:
While a pain in the neck, I have used this opportunity to let other people follow me along in my journey. I started the PCS diaries. OH, and something else...I have become completely addicted to
video - I am taking my digicam everywhere. I need a new one, but this one will do until I can 'upgrade' HEEHEE.
Since my blog is not integrated into my website yet (thank you webdesigner!!) I am posting the videos on my Facebook fanpage.
www.facebook.com/militarydutystations - take a look at it leave a note. Would love your support!
It's such a good day today. Thank you, Lord!
