We're Up To Something...

Hi NAMMAS Family!

I hope you're having a fantastic week and and awesome new year...we're already 26 days in! It's amazing how quickly a month passes by.  Welcome to all of you who are just joining us...we're excited you're here!


I wanted to send you a quick message to clarify the changes that will be happening at NAMMAS on Feb 1.  There have been some questions as to what to expect and I want to make sure you're clear.

What exactly is "the change"?
NAMMAS is shifting the way we serve our members, run our website and cultivate relationships within and outside the military community.  We are switching to an exclusive membership...meaning on February 1,  your NAMMAS member profile will be accessed through a paid membership only.

How will this change affect my membership?
Because we are still a relatively small network, we want to honor members who helped get NAMMAS started and who continue to come to the community of NAMMAS for support.  Therefore, beginning Feb 1, you will be offered a  Gold Membership at a significantly discounted rate of only $2.95 per month or $14.95 per year.  A Gold Member rate will be locked in for as long as you are a member in good standing with NAMMAS. 

Why is this happening?
I've polled members of NAMMAS, watched comment boards and reviewed analytical data to see how active you are, where the action is, and what you want more of.  What I found was that although we have over 2000 members, not everyone is really involved.  We've got a lot of you engaging the members in your group activity, asking questions, hosting events, and really shaking things up within NAMMAS and even where you are in your own communities.  But we also have some bystanders, onlookers, and some folks that are, frankly, just not interested.  Restructuring NAMMAS to serve those who really want this kind of connection is crucial to the success of our organization.  So I'm interested in building a really great community of women who truly do support each other.  I also want to live up to the idea we've formed as "the Support Bra Network".  And as you well know, you can't have a great bra if the straps are loose, the clasps are gone and no there's no support! We need all pieces working together.  I believe we'll get that when everyone is invested at a level that says "I really want to be here, and I want you here too."  In addition, NAMMAS will be able to offer some really cool programs, products, and stuff for you that's just not available right now until we have a fully vested membership.

What exactly can I expect to see happen after I become a NAMMAS Founding Member?
Over the next several months, NAMMAS will release some projects in phases, beginning with our website environment.  We've simply just got to clean house around here.  We've got to tighten up security...which, when we upgrade our membership, they'll be NO spammers because spammers just don't like to pay...we also want to launch programs and fully engage the many groups we have on the site.  We also want to take action on some of your comments concerning what you want and need from NAMMAS.

What if I don't want a Gold Membership.  Can I still access the forums?
Now that wouldn't make it so exclusive would it?! No, the forums are part of the charm of NAMMAS and will be available to you as a Gold Member. 

What about being a part of the groups I created/joined/checked out? Can I be a member of those?
Groups will be available only to members who've stepped up as a Gold Member beginning Feb 1.

What do I get as a Gold Member?
Well to begin, it's cost savings for you! When you become a Gold member it is at a significantly reduced rate at only $14.95 per year.  You'll have access to everything you do now including forums, group discussions, networking, planned webinars and teleclasses we will offer, discounted live events, exclusive discounts and coupons to major brands that partner with NAMMAS, and more!  We're even planning to add something extra special for our Gold Members in the form of a Welcome Kit that will help you get the most from your new membership and maximize the support you'll find here.  In addition, as our phased improvement plan rolls out, for those that join after a certain time the membership cost will be different for them.  BUT WHEN YOU JOIN US AS A GOLD MEMBER NOW, your member rate is locked in, for as long as you're a member in good standing with NAMMAS.  No matter if membership rates increase, yours will not.

Can I donate memberships for spouses in my unit, moms in my community or my friends?
Of course you can! And I bet they'd love you for it too.  It won't be tax deductible because we're not non-profit, but you would be helping a woman get her Support Bra on.

So what do I do now?
For now, continue to enjoy the community.  Then on February 1 when you access your profile you will be prompted to choose a monthly $2.95 plan or save 40% and choose the annual $14.95 plan.  That's it!

I understand that by changing how we do things some of you will say "no thanks." I get it, and that's ok.  But then some of you will understand the value of NAMMAS, want to continue and really be part of something that is making a daily difference in the lives of its members.  You want more than the fly-by-night forums, the people dipping in and out and you want to belong to organization that is a circle of friends.  You'll find that NAMMAS is for you.
