At 1:19pm on September 8, 2010, Erin Shipley said…: we planned on getting married and going over there with him but he found out that even if we are married we still arnt allowed to go there with him. something about they shortened the time spent so families arnt allowed to go anymore. his SGT told him we should have gotten married before he left for basic cuz then he would have gotten stationed in the states. It would have been nice to know that before. Nothing we can do about it now though. I wish there was something we could do so that we could be there with him. 18 months is kinda a long time. especially since we have our baby. It makes me sad that he has already missed so much of him growing and now he is going to miss even more. I guess i just need to stay strong though.

At 12:08am on September 8, 2010, Erin Shipley said…: Hi katie. my boyfriend is in the marines. he is in texas right now for his job school. he will be home on the 15th for about 13 days and then he will go to japan for a 18 months. we have a son. he is 8 months old. he was born 1 month before his daddy left for basic. its been pretty hard for me. it seems to not be getting better either. thanks for introducing yourself. its nice to meet other military families.
